If you begin to notice the early stages of an ingrown toenail, make sure to adhere to the following treatment plan.

– Bathe your affected foot in a mixture of 2 liters of warm water mixed with 3 tablespoons of baking soda to soften your skin.
– Disinfect a small, torn portion of a cotton ball with antibacterial liquid.
– Place the torn cotton piece under the ingrown toenail with tweezers.
– Change the cotton and repeat this entire procedure every 24 hours for 15 days and your problem will be cured.

Best Chicken Wing Recipe(s) Ever

If you are hosting a New Years party (or any other function really) this will be your go-to chicken wing recipes. They will be crisp and full of flavor.

The Perfect Baked/Grilled Chicken Wings

2 lbs chicken wings, cut into 2 pieces with tips removed

Preheat oven to 450 degrees
Bring a large pot of half water half chicken broth to boiling. Boil the wings 8-10 minutes and remove to drain on a wire rack. (helps reduce some of the fat allowing for quicker crisping in the oven)

Season the wings with your favorite DRY seasoning, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, etc.

Bake wings on a sheet pan for 30 minutes, then turn wings over and cook the other side for another 10 minutes.

Remove to a large bowl and toss in your favorite sauce. (see recipes to follow)
Serve while hot

For all Sauces: Combine all ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth. Pour into a saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally till slightly thickened. Remove from heat and allow to cool, toss wings until well coated.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY: Complaining about a problem without offering a solution is called whining

HAPPY DECEMBER 29 BIRTHDAY TO: Jude Law 43, John Voight 77,  Mekhi Phifer 41, Michael Cudlitz 51, Ted Danson 68, Jane Levy 26, Jennifer Ehle 46, Alexa Ray Joel 29, Marianne Faithfull 69, Mary Tyler Moore 79, and Billy Mitchell (1879-1936).

As the New Year approaches, a gazillion resolutions will be made to: lose weight, head to the gym and generally cut back on eating. If you know someone on a diet or planning to diet, here are a few things under the heading of “What-not-to-say.”

1. “One tiny piece won’t hurt!” You’re right. It won’t hurt. In fact, it’ll probably taste absolutely fantabulous. But what you don’t seem to understand is I’m AVOIDING this food because I cannot just eat ONE PIECE. Stop peer pressuring me, clown.
2. “You don’t need to do this, you look fine!” Thanks. That’s sweet. I am doing this though because I want to feel fine. So please be a dear and pass me a bottle of water and a Crystal Light packet and help me fill my daily water quotient, will ya?
3. “So-and-so lost weight last month and she said dieting was HORRIBLE.” I. Know. It’s. Horrible. Stop. Telling. Me.
4. “Well where can you go out to dinner?” Why friend, that’s awfully nice of you to ask. I am physically capable of going ANYWHERE for dinner tonight — I just can’t eat the same quarter-pounder with cheese as you. PLEASE, don’t attempt to make special arrangements for me if I don’t say I need them.
5. “You’re not going to eat that, right?” Right — me putting a piece of chocolate in my mouth is one huge joke. You have NO idea that I saved up just enough calories by opting for an afternoon salad to savor this moment and now you’re ruining it for me. YES I’M EATING IT. LOOK, IT’S ON MY TONGUE.
6. “Just don’t lose too much weight, OK?” Let’s focus on the here and now, OK?
7. “I hate that you’re limiting yourself so much.” Can we just, like, talk about something that isn’t food? Let’s go see a movie.
8. “You look so skinny today!” Thank you! That’s an awesome compliment! But now I’m going to wonder what in the world I was wearing yesterday and why it made me look fat.
9. “What size are you now?” No. Just no.
10. “How much more do you have to go?” I’m sorry, I thought I was done? Cue feelings of nervousness, anxiousness, and who did I think I was kidding? syndrome.

Thank you to blogger ‘mom 4 real’ for this blog. There will be many stainless steel appliances that will need some cleaning and special care after the holidays.
We recently purchased a new stainless steel refrigerator. About 5 minutes after having it delivered I realized that it had fingerprints and smudges all over it. I cleaned it with a little bit of vinegar, but could still see the smudges and fingerprints. I was so upset…I wanted my refrigerator to shine like it was supposed to. I did a little research and found out that there was an easy secret to keeping it shiny and clean and decided to give it a try. The results were amazing and it literally took less than 5 minutes and two ingredients that everyone has in their kitchens!
  • clean your stainless steel appliances and keep them that way, appliances, cleaning tips
I started by cleaning my refrigerator with vinegar and a cloth.
  • clean your stainless steel appliances and keep them that way, appliances, cleaning tips
Next, I rubbed olive oil all over my refrigerator, going with the grain of the stainless steel.
  • clean your stainless steel appliances and keep them that way, appliances, cleaning tips
Once I had rubbed the olive oil into the stainless steel, I used a clean white cloth to buff the entire refrigerator.
  • clean your stainless steel appliances and keep them that way, appliances, cleaning tips
It worked like a charm, and my refrigerator remained smudge and fingerprint free! I do this about once a week and love this new method of cleaning my stainless steel appliances! To read the entire post and find many more home cleaning tips, visit my blog, Mom 4 Real, below! Happy cleaning!

Use pill case compartments or an old lip balm container to organize and keep track of your smaller jewelry, like rings and earrings. **Editors Note** I am going to try this for sure. This will keep small earrings safe and organized.

Homemade Christmas Scent

1 cut up orange (you can also slice the orange)
3 cinnamon sticks, broken in half (I think it releases more of the fragrance)
1 cup of fresh cranberries
1 – 2 teaspoons cloves (whole or ground)
1 – 2 teaspoons nutmeg
Water to fill to about 1 inch below the rim. (You could also use apple juice or cider!)
Place on stove and simmer on low. Soon your house will smell like happiness.

This is such a great idea. Toys, the kids have age-outgrown or are just plain tired of, will delight another child somewhere. Have the kids gather up 10 toys each and put them in the Santa bags. These must be toys in decent shape that other kids would actually want. Leave the bags under the tree on Christmas Eve. Santa takes the toys back to the North Pole to fix them up and he leaves new toys in the bag. **Editors note** The gathering of old toys could be done by ‘elves’ in early December, giving Santa time to fix them and bring them in his sleigh on Christmas Eve. Meanwhile, the toys have been donated (by mom and dad) to a good cause.
