When searching for a blog idea the other day, I came across a decorating article, “70 Beautiful Foyers”. As it turns out, these foyers were larger than most people’s livingrooms. Most of us have an entry like this one where we believe there is no room for function. in these before and afters, they have added new, light colored flooring, a coat of light blue paint on the upper walls and beadboard, painted white, on the lower walls. This instantly brightens up and defines the space. Coat hooks give you somewhere to ‘hang your hat’ so to speak and a narrow table id a dropping spot for mail, keys, cell phones and mitts. The chair does not have to be large, just somewhere to put on your shoes. Painting it the same color as the walls helps it to blend in. Finish the space off with art, a mirror or in this case, a wreath.
