I came across a series of things you could do with cindercrete blocks (on Facebook somewhere). No source or credit was given. There were no instructions or tutorials but this project looks pretty straightforward. It looks to be 20 cindercrete blocks cleaned up, painted white and stacked 4 across with the opposite ends turned in. The mattress pad you can purchase in most department stores, or camping stores or specialty bedding stores. If there isn’t a mattress pad to be found buy a 4 or 5 ” slab of foam and have it covered. Narrow wale corduroy in a bright color will do just fine. Make sure to have it zippered for cleaning. Stack colorful throw cushions against the wall and your kids are all set for a play date or sleepover. Holes in the bricks are convenient little cubbies for toys, books and shoes. As the kids grow up, the day bed can mature with them by painting the bricks a different color and changing out the cover on the mattress pad.
